Description
Biaxially oriented flat geogrid of polypropylene has high strength in both directions, it has a wide, almost universal use (it can be laid as in the base of the roadway to strengthen the weakly bearing soil, so it can be laid directly into the asphalt to strengthen the asphalt-concrete coating and prevent the appearance of cracks and “creep” clothes of a road cloth).
Polypropylene biaxial geogrid can be used as a substitute for polyester and glass-fiber geogrids in cases when the predicted lifetime of the roadway does not exceed 3 years. The main difference from polyester geogrids is the smaller ultimate elongation (2% versus 15% in the case of polyester), which makes biaxial polypropylene geogrids less resistant to loads exceeding previously designed ones.
